This being my first time to Auckland, I needed a place to stay. I'm not one to party or even be overly social, so I ruled out many of the hostels in the area. Thus, I ended up booking a single room in Freemans Lodge & Apartments.

2. Ponsonby road ( has lots of cafes & restaurants)
3. Viaduct harbour (has lots of restaurants & you can view the expensive boats)
4. Ferry terminal (where you can catch a ferry to waiheke island or rangitoto island for a day trip.)
5. Maritime museum
6. Auckland museum (where you will find the history of new zealand & has a big park along iwth indoor winter gardens)
7. Art galleries
8. Queen street
9. Westfield shopping centre.
10. Kelly tarlton underwater world (There is free bus from sky tower which will take you to kelly tarlton & back.)
11. Mission bay beach (10 mins drive from Freemans lodge)Most of these all attractions are walking distance from Freemans Lodge.
